Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are all set to get hitched in May, sources say. We can expect a very traditional wedding from these two country sensations, both of which who earned plenty of accolades at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards. Lambert was reportedly thrilled that Shelton took the extra, traditional step of asking her father for her hand before he proposed. “I think every man should ask the girl’s dad for her hand,” said Lambert afterwards. Shelton has served as a mentor to the latest country sensation throughout her rising career. Will they become the next Nashville power couple, a la Tim McGraw and Faith Hill?
Reba McEntire’s Dad in a Coma
Reba McEntire’s father, a professional rodeo champion inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, is now in a coma. Reba, who was recently inducted in to the Country Music Hall of Fame, could not attend the ceremony due to her father’s condition. However, Reba was able to tell her father that she had made it into the Hall of Fame two days prior to the elder McEntire’s coma. Reba reportedly asked her mother if she thought he had understood what she said, and McEntire’s mother responded that she thought she had. Reba’s fans have been incredibly supportive in Reba’s time of need, flooding her with good thoughts and prayers. Reba’s father has always been incredibly supportive of her career and was always proud of his daughter’s epic accomplishments. Reba sent a grateful audio message to her fans.
Rascal Flatts Collaborating with Michael Bolton?
Apparently, Justin Bieber wasn’t enough of a crossover for the group. Rascal Flatts is apparently now writing a song that will appear on Michael Bolton’s new album. This is definitely a demographic shift for the band, since their duet with Bieber, “It Should’ve Been Me,” earned them recognition with a significantly younger crowd than Bolton’s fans. It’s unclear if the group is just writing a song for Bolton’s album or if the group will in fact collaborate with Bolton like they did with Bieber.
