Music has a huge following in almost every part of the world. Though the choice of the people might differ from place to place but many people preferred to be a fan of a musician rather than be a fan of an actor. Musician played a vital role and almost had an impact in most people in every walk of life. There some musicians who went on to be inspirations for rebellions, revolts and independence.
Musicians had a cult like following and a musician found different ways to make money of his popularity. One such way was to produce a type of merchandise under his name and sell it among the fans. The idea behind this type of business was that the musicians thought when they had such a huge fan base they could get people into buying a certain type of goods which they endorse. And all the fans in the world started wearing the same kind of dress, shoes, scarf, belts etc.
The rock stars also made it a point that they display all the merchandise they promote on the concerts so that more and more people buy it as collectables. Sometimes these collectables were available for only once in a lifetime opportunity. So for this reason many people thronged in long queues or sometimes one day before to have a merchandise of the particular music band. In the earlier days the musicians solely relied on their music capability to earn a living, name and fame but as time progressed they started venturing into promoting themselves as an advertisement and in turn tried to earn an income out of these types of business.
Though this was not a fool proof formula to success, sometime the merchandise sold by this group was not like in some countries but I had sold out all the stuff in some other country. Hence all these types of bands started to understand the sentimental value which the people had towards a thing. Thereby selling of merchandise proved to be a successful yet risky business.
